Antelope Hills Golf Course
opened in June 2002. Following our
acquisition by Ironwood Golf Properties in 2005, we have consistently improved course
conditions with a keen attention to detail and by adapting to the local agronomic
environment. Immediately following
the acquisition we improved the facility with the installation of a water treatment
system, and over 30,000 square feet of sod on the green surrounds.
We also took steps to stabilize the soil solution to provide our bluegrass
fairways and bent grass greens the best base to produce healthy plants.
We have some exciting
projects on the horizon that will continue the improvement of our facility:
A new lake has been installed
on the front nine, hole #7 that will increase our water storage capacity, helping
us negotiate the warm, dry summer months with a little more water to maintain course
conditions. The lake will also be in
play as a lateral hazard and while not in the direct line of play, will no doubt
‘pull’ some balls into its depths.
Our irrigation system
expansion is scheduled to begin in 2007.
This will improve the water distribution into the roughs which will allow
us to finally bring the same type of improvement there that we saw in the fairways
during 2005.
On-course bathrooms are
also on the short list of improvements that we will bring to the course to provide
some "relief" to our golfers.
We are excited about
these projects and about the future of Antelope Hills Golf Course.
